About Meadowland Elementary School

Principal's message:

It is truly an honor to be named Meadowland's fourth principal.  Meadowland has such a supportive community of families, educators and businesses.  This cultural and linguistic diversity combined with the supportive educational environment Loudoun provides makes Meadowland the perfect place to educate our children.

This school year will begin my 16th year as an educator, my 14th year in Loudoun County Public Schools, and my fourth year at Meadowland Elementary.  It has been a joy watching our students and teachers build their technological capacity and problem solving abilities through our partnership with Code to the Future.  Last year we added Reading Units of Study at every grade level and this hands-on professional development has added more even more rigor and student voice during our language arts block. I view initiatives like these as essential to our growth as educational leaders.

I was raised in Sterling, Virginia and am a Park View High School graduate.   My college career began at Virginia Tech where I received a B.A. in Communicaiton Studies and Technical Writing.  I continued with my Master's in Education from George Mason University.  I was fortunate to be part of a program where I had experience with general education students, special education students, and learners of English.  During this time I became certified as a general education, special education and English language teacher.  This background has been essential in building my understanding of strong instructional practices to support all types of learners.  As a person with a visual impairment, and as a mother of a child with a visual impairment - I never take for granted accommodations and services children may need to show what they've learned.

My love of teaching gained momentum during my ten years of teaching at Guilford Elementary and inspired me to become certified in Educaiton Leadership at Geroge Mason University.  This supported my transition to Assistant Principal of Meadowland in 2016.

Married to a Loudoun native, my husband Jason graduated from Loudoun County High School.  We took turns with our educational endeavors.  Jason attended culinary school at L'Academie de Cuisine in Gathersburg, Marlyand, and now is the Chef de Cuisine of a Loudoun-based catering company.  We are the proud parents of two strong-willed and curious young children.  My son Drew will enter second grade this year and has been attending Meadowland since Kindergarten.  My daughter Quinn will begin her elementary path this year as a Meadowland Kindergartner.

This will be an incredible year for our Meadowland Community, and I look forward to continue to grow with parents, teachers, community members, and most importantly -- our children.
