What is a Parent Teacher Association (PTA)

A PTA is a formal organization composed of parents, teachers, and staff that is intended to faciliate parental participation in a school.  The PTA helps funds for items for which Fairfax County does provide funding, or does not provide enough funding.

The PTA supports our school’s needs like technology, field trip buses, classroom supplies, enrichment programs, assemblies, fun events, and many other things. The PTA also helps organize events that our students love to participate in such as the Fall Festival, Movie Nights, and Winter Wonderland.

The GBW Parent Teacher Association is a volunteer-run, non-profit organization whose mission is to promote the educational success and overall wellness of every child at Greenbriar West by encouraging strong parent, family, and community involvement. Join a group of parents, teachers and community members who care about the well-being of GBW students and who want to do everything they can to help them succeed.
